Assistant General Manager - Lulu Bar

About the role

Lulu Bar, part of Oliver & Bonacini, is a Pacific-inspired restaurant in Toronto offering wood-fired dishes and a beverage program of sake, beer and creative cocktails. The Assistant General Manager reports to the General Manager and works closely with the front-of-house and back-of-house teams to maintain high-performing teams and uphold the restaurant's systems and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate the restaurant's vision to all team members and lead by example, embodying its values and inspiring the team
• Monitor and achieve technical service standards and points of detail
• Build and maintain relationships with guests, team members and senior management
• Create, foster and maintain a high-quality bar program
• Recruit, select, train and develop staff, manage performance and coach employees
• Use conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, and coach management team members to run briefings with service staff before each event
• Track sales, handle invoicing and manage inventory
• Schedule operations according to service needs and experience

Required profile

• 2-3 years of experience in a similar work environment
• Seasoned hospitality professional who is actively seeking a more efficient way of doing things
• Collaborative, with attention to detail and quick thinking
• Willingness to grow with the company and take advantage of optional education opportunities
