Assistant Fashion Designer

About the role

We are seeking a creative, hands‑on Assistant Fashion Designer to help bring our collections to life at Joshua Perets, a Montreal‑based brand that creates high‑quality loungewear for the modern young woman.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed flat sketches in Adobe Illustrator based on garment measurements and construction details.
• Receive, measure, and evaluate samples against specifications, flag discrepancies and follow up with overseas suppliers.
• Build and maintain tech packs, collection boards, and accessory files such as hangtags, zippers, trims, and logos.
• Manage and organize sample tracking across seasonal collections.
• Assist in the preparation of colors, styles, and collections each season.
• Design graphics and wordmarks for application across styles.
• Contribute styling ideas and outfit inspirations for the marketing department.
• Support photoshoots and styling, ensuring brand consistency throughout.

Required profile

• Diploma in Fashion Design or a related field.
• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in fashion design.
• Strong ability to measure garments and work with technical specifications.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience communicating with overseas factories and suppliers (strong asset).
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, self‑directed and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Genuine fashion sense that aligns with an established brand aesthetic.
• Experience with photoshoots and styling (strong asset).
• Familiarity with Figma or AI design tools is a plus.
