Artificial Kidney Technician

About the role
Join the Renal Haemodialysis team at Vancouver General Hospital as an Artificial Kidney Technician. You will work within a client‑ and family‑centred care model, supporting the day‑to‑day operation of specialised dialysis equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Assemble, operate, and perform routine preventative maintenance on renal dialysis equipment.
- Assist the patient care team with mobilising and preparing patients for dialysis sessions.
- Access and update the unit database and other hospital systems using basic word‑processing tools.
- Follow safety, infection‑control, and equipment‑operation protocols.
Required profile
- Completion of Grade 12.
- At least two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organise work, interact positively with others, and meet the physical demands of the role.
Required skills
- Basic word‑processing proficiency.
- Operation and maintenance of specialised medical equipment.
