Architecture Job Captain – Lead Design & Delivery

About the role

MG2 is seeking an Architecture Job Captain to join its Client Programs Market team in Toronto. The role will lead the development and execution of architectural construction documents for global and national building programs, coordinating with consultants and internal teams through all design phases.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate production and contract deliverables, including field surveys, design drawings, construction documents, exhibits, and specifications, ensuring alignment with contract and design intent.
• Integrate design deliverables into contract documents and specifications with internal design staff.
• Manage consultant deliverables and ensure compliance with jurisdictional requirements, client standards, and program guidelines.
• Support code research and coordinate with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) under the direction of a licensed architect.
• Provide administrative support: prepare meeting agendas/minutes, update project trackers, handle permit applications, maintain RFI and submittal logs, and generate project reports.
• Assist in preparing specifications, quality‑assurance reviews, permitting materials, and construction‑administration tasks under supervision.
• Produce accurate work on schedule, demonstrating understanding of design intent and project budget.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a professional architecture or design firm.
• Ability to work collaboratively with consultants, internal teams, and clients.
• Strong understanding of jurisdictional requirements, client standards, and programmatic guidelines.
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to produce high‑quality documentation.
