About the role

The Functional Architect will lead the modeling and design of functional solutions for a major client in downtown Montreal. You will work in a hybrid setting alongside a team of about one hundred consulting and delivery experts, contributing to a large‑scale digital transformation roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Model functional structures using use‑case models and other structural techniques.
• Guide analysts in developing use cases and ensure the quality of functional deliverables.
• Align functional documentation with business requirements and the organization’s technology vision.
• Collaborate closely with solution architects to guarantee coherent integration of solutions.
• Decompose solutions functionally, identify common functions, and define services within an SOA/MSA approach.
• Contribute to functional architecture principles, standards, and documentation across projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 + years of IT experience, including 6 + years as a Functional Architect using a use‑case‑driven approach and UML.
• 5 + years developing information systems with web technologies.NET, object‑oriented programming, and service design.
• 3 + years preparing functional architecture documentation (principles, standards, orientation requirements).
• 2 + years in functional architecture for electronic service delivery projects.
• 1 + year hands‑on experience with Visio and Visual Paradigm in production.
• Strong understanding of SOA concepts; knowledge of government or parapublic sector is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken French communication skills.
