About the role
The City of Richmond Hill is seeking a qualified Aquafitness Instructor to join its Community Services Recreation and Culture team. You will plan, lead, and supervise safe, engaging water‑based fitness classes for participants of all ages, promoting health and well‑being in a supportive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver safe, effective aquafitness classes in line with your certification.
- Provide clear instruction on proper exercise techniques and educate participants on the benefits of regular activity.
- Maintain a safe learning environment and respond to first‑aid emergencies as required.
- Complete all required incident and accident documentation promptly.
- Attend mandatory staff trainings, meetings, and keep certifications current.
- Assist with class coverage when needed and uphold the City’s policies and public‑relations standards.
Required profile
- Current Fitness Instructor Specialist or Aquafitness Instructor certification.
- Experience teaching fitness classes, preferably in an aquatic setting.
- Valid Emergency First Aid with CPR‑C/AED certification.
- Successful Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Strong judgment, commitment to personal growth, and ability to represent the City professionally.
