Application Developer – Software Solutions Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Application Developer to design, build, test, and maintain software applications that support our trade and customs brokerage services. The role involves close collaboration with business units to translate requirements into reliable, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define, develop, test, and document new and existing applications using Java and related technologies.
• Perform user acceptance testing in partnership with business stakeholders.
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot issues, and recommend enhancements.
• Lead or contribute to small‑to‑medium software projects, delegating tasks to programmers as needed.
• Research, design, and implement cloud‑based solutions on Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Document functional and technical designs, cost estimates, and project timelines.
• Monitor industry trends and propose upgrades or replacements for legacy systems.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of business requirements and ability to propose technical solutions.
• Experience collaborating with end‑users and cross‑functional teams.
• Proactive problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to produce clear documentation for future maintenance.
