Apartment Building Maintenance Worker

About the role

Skyline Living is seeking a reliable maintenance professional to keep its apartment complexes in top condition. You will work independently across multiple residential locations, handling routine cleaning, repairs, and safety checks.

Key responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs.
• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and heavy waste.
• Empty trash cans, clean windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
• Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Coordinate with tradespersons and contractors for major repairs.
• Maintain appliances, paint, drywall, and perform basic carpentry tasks.
• Conduct safety and security inspections and clean snow/ice from walkways.
• Show vacant apartments to prospective tenants and move furniture as needed.

Required profile

• College or CEGEP certificate/diploma (1‑2 years) in a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in residential or commercial maintenance.
• Ability to handle heavy loads (up to 23 kg) and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Operating industrial vacuum cleaners.
• Using power tools for minor repairs.
• Performing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Painting, drywall repair, and basic carpentry.
• Appliance maintenance and repair.
