Analyst/Associate – Private Equity Direct Investments (Consumer & TMT) – Early Talent

About the role

The Early Talent Program offers a two‑year, full‑time position within BCI’s Private Equity Direct Investments team, focusing on Consumer and Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT) sectors. You will work on the entire investment lifecycle, from sourcing and screening targets to due diligence, valuation, transaction execution, and post‑investment monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Support preliminary analysis of private‑equity opportunities, including financial review, management meetings, and valuation framework development.
• Participate in comprehensive due‑diligence workstreams covering commercial, financial, tax, legal, ESG and other aspects.
• Prepare investment memoranda, screeners, deal alerts and Investment Committee materials.
• Monitor portfolio companies, track performance metrics, and contribute to value‑creation initiatives such as follow‑on M&A and strategic financing.
• Assist with origination activities and sector knowledge building for Consumer and TMT subsectors.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree with high academic standing.
• 1‑5 years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, strategy consulting or corporate development.
• Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and ability to manage projects under tight deadlines.
• Solid business acumen and judgment; capable of working independently and as part of a high‑performance team.

Required skills

• Financial modeling, valuation and research.
• Proficiency with financial databases such as CapIQ, FactSet, PitchBook and Refinitiv.

What we offer

• Annual base salary range of $132,000 – $145,000 (CAD).
