Analog & Mixed‑Signal Architect

About the role

Lightmatter is seeking an Analog & Mixed‑Signal Architect to lead the design of high‑speed analog circuitry for its 3D‑stacked photonic engine. The role involves partnering with digital, analog, photonic and software teams to create innovative solutions that enable extreme‑scale AI computing.

Key responsibilities

• Propose and develop high‑speed (50 Gbps and beyond) AMS circuit blocks for optical transceivers, including drivers, TIAs, equalizers, ADC/DACs, PLLs and CDRs.
• Collaborate with the analog design team to estimate performance, power consumption and area of analog components within the Passage platform.
• Work closely with the photonics engineering team to deliver high‑bandwidth photonic interconnect solutions.
• Author, review and validate detailed architectural specifications and technical documentation.
• Represent Lightmatter at technical conferences as a subject‑matter expert.

Required profile

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience in high‑speed analog and mixed‑signal circuit design.
• Strong analytical abilities and clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to produce comprehensive technical documents and specifications.

Required skills

• Design of high‑speed analog circuit blocks (≥50 Gbps).
• Expertise with drivers, transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs), equalizers, ADC/DAC converters, phase‑locked loops (PLLs) and clock‑data recovery (CDR) circuits.
• Performance, power and area estimation for analog devices.
• Technical documentation and architectural specification authoring.
