Airport Operations Specialist

About the role

The Loomex Group is looking for a motivated Airport Operations Specialist to support certified operations at Dryden Regional Airport (YHD). This safety‑critical, full‑time position ensures airside safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient ground handling in all weather conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of runways, taxiways and aprons in accordance with CARs 302 and TP 312 standards.
• Operate and maintain airfield equipment such as loaders, snow blowers, tandem trucks and chainsaws.
• Perform runway snow removal, surface condition monitoring, wildlife management and emergency response duties.
• Carry out aircraft fuelling and support below‑wing services including marshalling, de‑icing and baggage handling.
• Participate in Safety Management System initiatives, regulatory audits and aerodrome advisory services.
• Assist with NOTAM issuance procedures and airport security protocol implementation.

Required profile

• Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Valid Ontario G‑class driver’s licence (D with Z endorsement preferred).
• Ability to work extended hours during weather events and lift up to 50 lb.
• Clean criminal record and driver’s abstract.
• Strong teamwork, decision‑making and communication skills.

Required skills

• Operation of airfield maintenance equipment (loaders, snow blowers, tandem trucks, chainsaws).
• Aircraft fuelling and ground handling (marshalling, de‑icing, baggage handling).
• Knowledge of CARs Part III – Aerodromes and TP 312 compliance.
• Restricted Radio Operator Certificate (ROC‑A) – preferred.
• Pilot licence or ground‑school knowledge – preferred.
• Equipment Maintenance Certification (421A or 310T) – preferred.
