Aerospace Design Engineer – In‑Service Repairs

About the role

Join a specialized group within Capgemini's engineering team to support a commercial aircraft program as a Design Engineer focused on in‑service repairs. You will work closely with stress, materials and processes experts to deliver safe, regulatory‑compliant repair solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assess structural damage to aircraft and respond to AOG situations.
• Investigate in‑service problems, identify failure sources and develop innovative solutions.
• Propose repair concepts that meet sector regulations and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with the stress department and other specialists (Aero, Materials & Processes).
• Prepare design reports in English for certification purposes.
• Design generic repairs for metallic and composite structures.
• Support the design and implementation of structural modifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in aerospace repairs (in‑service, MAP/MRB).
• Strong knowledge of aircraft structures and ability to question repair approaches.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills in English; French is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Required skills

• CATIA V5 (preferably R19).
• Enovia.
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
