Accountant

About the role

ECO Canada is seeking a performance‑driven Accountant to join its Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will support the organization’s environmental mission by ensuring accurate financial records and timely processing of transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices and corporate credit‑card transactions.
• Prepare customer sales invoices, generate statements, monitor receivables and support collection activities.
• Record and reconcile revenue transactions from online payment platforms.
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules and post amortization entries for memberships and subscriptions.
• Prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations and assist with month‑end close.
• Develop and update a contract register tracking vendor and customer agreements.
• Complete ad‑hoc accounting tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Passion for the environment and a strong interest in supporting an environmental workforce.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial data.
• Experience with general accounting functions, reconciliation and analysis.
