Accountant

About the role

Vista by Virtus is seeking a motivated Accountant to support a diverse portfolio of entrepreneurs, non‑profits and specialized professionals. You will work in a paperless, technology‑enabled environment, helping clients achieve financial clarity while growing your own expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger for accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and payroll.
• Execute the full payroll cycle from data entry to distribution.
• Perform bank and credit‑card reconciliations.
• Prepare and calculate GST, PST, T4, T5 and ROE filings.
• Participate in month‑end close activities for multiple clients.
• Adopt and leverage cloud‑based financial technology tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce (accounting major) or a Diploma in Accounting.
• 1–2 years of hands‑on accounting experience.
• Enthusiasm for a fast‑paced, supportive team environment.
• Willingness to work with a variety of client industries.
• Comfort with learning and using new financial technologies.
