Accountant

About the role

Alliance Mercantile Inc. is seeking a full‑time Accountant to join its Burnaby head office. The role supports the finance function across manufacturing, retail and e‑commerce operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and inventory control.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile monthly journal entries, including month‑end accruals and intercompany transactions.
• Review and analyze variances against prior periods and communicate findings to management.
• Prepare non‑consolidated and consolidated financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Record and reconcile sales, payment receipts and customer refunds for e‑commerce and retail activities.
• Post vendor invoices and process payments for joint‑venture manufacturing.
• Monitor joint‑venture manufacturing activities, including raw material purchases, work‑in‑process, finished‑goods movement and inventory variances.
• Lead physical inventory counts and resolve discrepancies across business units.
• Prepare GST/HST and QST filings and process tax payments.
• Assist in annual budget preparation, variance analysis and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, retail or distribution environments.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with accounting software.
