Accountant – Full Cycle Finance Role

About the role

Brilliant Harvest is seeking an Accountant to manage the full accounting cycle, from bookkeeping and payroll to investor reporting and financial planning support. This position offers early‑career professionals real ownership, varied responsibilities, and close collaboration with leadership in a fast‑moving ag‑tech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly bookkeeping tasks including accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue recognition, payroll recording, capital asset depreciation, deferred revenue, cash‑flow projection, bank reconciliation and foreign‑exchange transactions.
• Process bill payments and generate customer invoices.
• Prepare and file sales tax returns ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Produce internal and external financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) with budget‑to‑actual and variance analysis.
• Develop business metrics and financial forecasts for investor and board reporting.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, grant applications and related financial reporting.
• Support employee onboarding, contract administration, compensation reviews and raises.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of general bookkeeping experience.
• Detail‑oriented with strong time‑management skills to meet deadlines.
• Progression toward a CPA designation is a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with Xero, Quickbooks or Sage (or similar ERP systems).
