Account Executive – Small Business Sales

About the role

Relay is a digital banking platform helping small business owners manage cash flow and grow. The Account Executive will champion the success of SMBs by building trusted relationships with owners, accountants and bookkeepers, and delivering tailored financial solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to close, driving new business across inbound and outbound channels and ensuring successful post‑close activation.
• Become an expert in Relay’s product and industry to advise business owners and their advisors, aligning their goals with product capabilities.
• Translate product features into tangible business value for each customer.
• Strategize with the team to exceed quota and continuously improve the sales process.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Business Development, Marketing, Risk, Customer Experience, Revenue Operations and Sales Enablement.

Required profile

• 2+ years of full‑cycle sales experience, preferably in fintech or selling to SMBs, accountants or bookkeepers.
• Consultative, discovery‑led sales approach with ability to translate customer needs into clear business value.
• Experience in strategic account‑based prospecting and outbound pipeline generation.
• Proficiency with CRM and sales tools, actively leveraging AI to improve prospecting efficiency.
• Strong interpersonal skills, growth mindset and ability to thrive in a fast‑scaling environment.
