Yard Waste Technician – Mon‑Thu 2 pm‑12:30 am

About the role

Da‑Lee Group is seeking a dependable, safety‑conscious Yard Waste Technician to join its environmental services team. The role involves safe handling, processing, packaging and movement of hazardous and non‑hazardous waste in a fast‑paced industrial setting.

Key responsibilities

• Process containerized chemical waste in accordance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Collect, label and document samples from incoming waste streams.
• Safely package, sort, segregate and unpack hazardous and non‑hazardous materials.
• Assist with waste consolidation, material handling and inventory management activities.
• Load, unload and move materials throughout the facility using appropriate equipment.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, loaders, excavators, shredders and power tools.
• Inspect containers, equipment and work areas to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation related to waste processing.
• Perform general labour duties including housekeeping, yard maintenance and facility support tasks.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental protection.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift up to 50 lb.
• Reliability, punctuality and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (certification provided if needed).
• Operation of industrial equipment (loaders, excavators, shredders, power tools).
• Knowledge of WHMIS and TDG regulations.
• Hazardous material handling.
