Water Transfer Technician – Calgary

About the role

Sideworx Connect is hiring Water Transfer Technicians for short‑term and seasonal assignments in Calgary. The role involves moving water from source to site, ensuring safe and efficient delivery for municipal projects. Technicians enjoy flexible scheduling, the ability to work on a variety of projects, and the chance to gain experience in water handling operations. You will operate pumps, crew trucks and filtration units, perform equipment inspections, and follow client SOPs while representing the company professionally. The position requires a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and the ability to work 12‑hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as pumps, crew trucks, filtration units and equipment trailers.
• Perform routine equipment inspections to ensure proper working order.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and client regulations.
• Maintain a professional attitude, appearance and representation of the company.

Required profile

• 2+ years of water transfer experience.
• Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of pumps and flow dynamics.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to support a safe work environment.
• Pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.

Required skills

• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Current certification in First Aid, H2S Alive, and CSO (TDG & WHMIS provided).
• 4x4 truck – 1‑ton diesel preferred with slip tank and transfer pump/hose hitch receiver.
• Proof of 5 million liability insurance.
