Waste Services Coordinator

About the role

The Waste Services Coordinator will support the Manager of Waste Services in delivering high‑quality waste management programs for the Town of Whitby. This position plays a key part in fostering a sustainable community while upholding the Town’s CARE values.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing waste management policies, programs, and procedures.
• Track and report key performance indicators for waste collection operations.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams, external partners, and elected officials.
• Support community outreach and education initiatives related to waste reduction and recycling.
• Provide administrative support, including data entry, documentation, and preparation of reports.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
• Demonstrated commitment to the Town’s values of collaboration, accountability, respect, and engagement.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment.
• Interest in environmental sustainability and community service.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools).
