Warehouse Shift Manager

About the role

Dot Foods Canada is hiring a Warehouse Shift Manager in Ingersoll, Ontario, reporting to the Warehouse Manager. You will provide hands-on leadership on the warehouse floor by training, monitoring and evaluating your team, and actively lead the receiving, warehousing and shipping of product in line with company culture, service and cost objectives. The position is full time, Sunday to Wednesday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with some off-hours for meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all employees are trained and developed to meet safety and productivity standards
• Plan inbound and outbound product flow and labour needs to meet daily deadlines
• Communicate, coordinate and support all policies and procedures within the warehouse and company
• Achieve warehouse cost metrics and develop cost-reduction strategies
• Apply continuous improvement and lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste
• Supervise warehouse leads, staff and floor personnel

Required profile

• High school diploma or general equivalent degree
• Ability to pass a standard physical abilities test
• Effective organisational, analytical and planning skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by car, plane or train
• Working environment involves temperatures from 0 F to 70 F and extensive standing, walking and lifting, including operating warehouse equipment

Required skills

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (listed as a plus)
• Knowledge of distribution or warehouse processes or systems (listed as a plus)
• Previous leadership experience (listed as a plus)
• Electric pallet jack and narrow-aisle licences and forklift certification obtained during initial training
