Material Handler - Manufacturing Plant

About the role

Dura-Line, an Orbia Connectivity Solutions business, is hiring a Material Handler for its manufacturing plant in St. Albert, Alberta. The role supports the production team by making sure materials for each line are drawn from the right locations, set up, monitored and available throughout the shift, and helps the Shipping group with shipping and receiving tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Draw materials from the right locations, stage and set them up for each production line
• Prepare and unload shipments, and inspect inbound and outbound shipments for damage
• Assist with inventory control, warehouse organization and cycle counts
• Pack materials and prepare them for shipment, storing them in the right places
• Provide accurate documentation to the Shipping/Receiving team
• Use basic hand and power tools, and safely operate forklifts and other lift equipment
• Work in a non-climate-controlled facility and outside in bad weather, lifting 50 pounds

Required profile

• 2-3 years' experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, shipping or distribution environment
• High school diploma or GED desired
• Ability to read and understand work instructions and safety documents
• Team player committed to safety, able to work in a diverse environment
• Canadian experience not required

Required skills

• 2+ years with forklift; counterbalance forklift preferred, telehandler an asset
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and other lift equipment

• Pay starting at $26.00 per hour plus $2.50 night shift differential
