Veterinary Technician

About the role

The Dufferin Queen Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our full‑time team. You will work directly with animals undergoing treatment or surgery, providing hands‑on care and supporting our veterinarians.

Key responsibilities

• Handle, restrain and care for animals before, during and after procedures.
• Produce diagnostic radiographs and assist with laboratory research.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines and prescribed treatments.
• Support veterinarians throughout surgical procedures.
• Counsel clients on animal health, identify livestock, and perform nursing and rehabilitation therapy.
• Perform office management and clerical duties as needed.

Required profile

• College/CEGEP education or equivalent experience.
• Registration with a provincial/territorial association as a Registered Animal Health Technologist or Registered Veterinary Technician.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work under pressure and handle physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail, client‑focused attitude and teamwork orientation.
