US / Canadian Cross-Border Tax Manager

About the role

Our growing public accounting firm in the Greater Toronto Area is looking for an experienced US/Canadian Cross‑Border Tax Manager. You will work directly with high‑net‑worth individuals, owner‑managed businesses and corporations on complex cross‑border tax matters while contributing to the expansion of our tax practice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review US and Canadian cross‑border tax engagements.
• Provide tax planning and advisory services for individuals, corporations, trusts and estates.
• Review complex Canadian and US tax returns.
• Advise clients on residency, immigration, emigration and cross‑border compliance.
• Conduct tax research and prepare technical memorandums.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and assist clients in implementing strategies.
• Mentor and develop junior tax professionals.
• Maintain and strengthen client relationships.
• Collaborate with partners on practice development initiatives.

Required profile

• Canadian CPA designation (required).
• US CPA designation (strongly preferred).
• 5+ years of public‑accounting tax experience.
• Extensive experience with US‑Canada cross‑border taxation.
• Strong technical knowledge of Canadian and US tax legislation.
• Experience with owner‑managed businesses, trusts, estates and high‑net‑worth clients.
• Excellent communication and client‑management skills.
• Leadership and team‑development abilities.
