Unix System Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a Unix System Administrator to join our international high‑tech consultancy. You will be responsible for keeping our compute and storage platforms stable, secure, and performant while collaborating with cross‑functional infrastructure teams.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve production‑impacting issues in the compute and storage environment.
• Work with networking, database, and hosted‑solution teams to coordinate outage resolution and define impact.
• Perform proactive health‑check and hygiene tasks to maintain operational stability and compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering to test and certify new hardware and software releases.
• Participate in occasional weekend projects to onboard new Unix assets or support datacenter build‑outs.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in a similar Unix/Linux administration role.
• Strong knowledge of Linux (preferably Red Hat) and related services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, Kerberos, SSHD, PXE, SFTP, HTTPD, Docker.
• Experience with enterprise server hardware, networking equipment, and virtualization technologies.
• Ability to write intermediate to complex scripts in KSH, Bash, Perl, or Python.
• Good understanding of configuration‑management tools (Red Hat Satellite, Quattor, Puppet, Chef).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
