Truck Driver – Flatbed & Mountain Driving

About the role

HKR Transport Ltd. is seeking a reliable truck driver to operate flatbed and special‑purpose trucks across national and provincial routes. The role involves delivering goods safely while maintaining high standards of customer service and environmental efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and adjust routes using GPS and computer equipment to minimise fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
• Load, secure, tarp and unload cargo, ensuring safety and security of goods.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections, including brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
• Maintain vehicle condition by checking tires, lights, brakes, cold‑storage units and other equipment.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Address customer complaints, provide professional service and coach colleagues on new work techniques.
• Drive as part of a two‑person team or convoy, including mountain driving and special‑purpose truck operations.
• Handle payments for goods and manage travel itineraries and reservations.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1–2 years of truck driving experience, including short‑haul and national routes.
• Valid Class 1 (or A) licence with Air Brake (Z) endorsement and Class 5/5F/G licence.
• Ability to lift up to 45 kg and perform repetitive tasks while seated.
• Valid passport and driver logbook knowledge.
