Trauma Physician/Surgeon – Level 1 Trauma Centre

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Trauma Physician/Surgeon to join the Royal Columbian Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Centre within Fraser Health. The role involves comprehensive clinical care, teaching, and leadership in our busy trauma service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily in‑house rounding on all admitted trauma patients.
• Respond to trauma activations and consult requests promptly.
• Teach residents and fellows and contribute to educational activities.
• Participate in trauma clinic, service meetings, rounds presentations and trauma committees.
• Manage the trauma service for seven consecutive days during six designated weeks each year, including night call.
• Provide additional night call coverage (minimum two calls per month) during non‑trauma weeks.

Required profile

• Completion of a Trauma Fellowship and ATLS certification.
• Active medical position in Emergency Medicine, a Surgical Sub‑specialty or Anesthesia within Fraser Health Authority.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in British Columbia.

Required skills

• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
