Trauma Physician/Surgeon – Emergency Medicine

About the role

The Trauma Service at Royal Columbian Hospital is looking for a qualified Trauma Physician/Surgeon to join a Level 1 Trauma centre. You will provide acute care for trauma patients, support the trauma team, and contribute to education and service development.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily in‑house rounding on all admitted trauma patients.
• Respond to trauma activations and consult requests promptly.
• Teach residents and fellows and participate in trauma clinic and service meetings.
• Manage the trauma service for 7 consecutive days during six designated weeks each year, including night call.
• Provide additional night call coverage (minimum two calls per month) outside of trauma weeks.

Required profile

• Completed a Trauma Fellowship.
• Current ATLS certification.
• Active licensure in Emergency Medicine, a Surgical Subspecialty, or Anesthesia within Fraser Health Authority.

Required skills

• ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certification.
