Temporary Part-Time ICU Registered Nurse

About the role

The Intensive Care Unit at Ross Memorial Hospital is seeking a temporary part‑time Registered Nurse to provide critical care for cardiac, medical and surgical patients. This role involves 12‑hour day and night shifts in a fast‑paced, 24/7 environment, supporting patients who require close monitoring, mechanical ventilation and advanced cardiac care.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients receiving mechanical ventilation and hemodynamic therapies.
• Perform defibrillation, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and emergency interventions as needed.
• Administer IV medications, including hemodynamic drugs, and manage I.V. therapy.
• Document patient care accurately using the Epic electronic health record system.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure safe, high‑quality patient care.
• Adhere to hospital policies, ONA collective agreement schedules, and safety standards.

Required profile

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Critical Care Certificate or willingness to obtain within one year.
• Recent experience (within five years) in ICU, mechanical ventilation and defibrillation.
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications.
• Ability to work 12‑hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to lift, turn and transfer patients as required.
