Temporary Full-Time Designated Early Childhood Educator

About the role

The Designated Early Childhood Educator will work under the Principal’s direction at Riverside Public School, partnering with the classroom teacher to deliver a full‑day early learning program. This temporary, full‑time position supports both regular classroom activities and the extended‑day program.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement a full‑day early learning curriculum aligned with the Ministry’s Kindergarten guidelines.
• Provide supervision and age‑appropriate programming for groups of students during the extended‑day program.
• Collaborate with teachers to design learning environments that foster cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
• Assist children with physical needs such as lifting, bending, and reaching, as well as washroom routines, dressing, toileting, and lunchtime activities.

Required profile

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
• Minimum six months of child‑care experience in an educational setting.
• Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators in good standing.
• Knowledge of the full‑day Kindergarten curriculum.
• Strong communication, confidentiality, and ability to follow policies.
• Organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills.
