Technical Agronomy Summer Intern – 4‑Month Internship

About the role

Join BASF Agricultural Solutions as a Technical Agronomy Summer Intern and contribute to large‑scale agronomic trials while building a solid foundation for your career in agriculture. The 4‑month summer internship (2027) is based in Winnipeg and Brandon, Manitoba, offering hands‑on experience in field research and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and manage large‑scale trials (e.g., InVigor Demonstration Strip Trials).
• Conduct evaluations on seed treatments, herbicides and fungicides.
• Support customer tours and presentations.
• Operate ATVs and pull‑behind sprayers, transporting equipment between trial sites.
• Complete and present a demand‑creation or research project.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an agriculture science or related degree program and returning to studies after the internship.
• Enthusiastic about agronomy, strong communicator and safety‑focused.
• Able to travel within the assigned region, work independently and hold a valid driver’s licence.
• Experience with farm equipment and sprayers is an asset.

Required skills

• Agronomic trial design and execution.
• Crop evaluation techniques (plant vigor, stand counts).
• Safe operation of ATVs, sprayers and farm equipment.
• Stakeholder engagement and professional communication.
