Teaching Assistant – Chemical Engineering (Fall 2026)

About the role

The Department of Chemical Engineering at McGill University is seeking graduate students to serve as Teaching Assistants for the Fall 2026 semester. TAs will support undergraduate laboratory sessions and safety training across a range of core and advanced chemical engineering courses.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory experiments, equipment setup, and safety procedures.
• Provide guidance to undergraduate students during lab work.
• Support course instructors in grading, report preparation, and administrative tasks.
• Maintain lab safety standards and ensure compliance with university regulations.

Required profile

• Current graduate student at McGill University.
• Enrollment in a chemical engineering program or related field.
• Prior TA experience is a plus.
• Completion of relevant prerequisite courses (e.g., CHEE 370).

Required skills

• Knowledge of biotechnology, microbiology, or molecular biology.
• Understanding of enzyme kinetics.
• Experience with microbiology laboratory techniques.
• Familiarity with chemical engineering principles and lab safety.
