Tax Manager

About the role

Baker Tilly is seeking a Tax Manager to lead personal tax and compilation engagements for a diverse client base. You will work closely with a collaborative team, providing expert guidance while developing junior staff and delivering high‑quality tax solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Review a wide range of personal tax, review and compilation engagements and ensure all tax matters are addressed before filing.
• Provide daily guidance, coaching, and development to firm staff on tax knowledge and matters.
• Research tax issues, prepare memoranda, and participate in special tax engagements.
• Deliver client tax planning services and identify service‑opportunity areas.
• Prepare and present technical sessions to firm staff.
• Maintain attentive client relationships to foster productive collaborations.

Required profile

• Successful completion of the Common Final Evaluation (CFE).
• Completion or enrollment in the CPA Canada In‑Depth Tax Course or a Master of Taxation.
• 5+ years of public accounting experience with a tax specialization.
• Strong technical knowledge of Canadian tax issues and GAAP requirements for tax provisions.
• Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently and within a team.
• Experience with owner‑managed businesses is an asset.
• Passion for tax work and a client‑focused mindset.
