Tax Advisor & Preparer (Hybrid – Travel Required)

About the role

The Tax Advisor & Preparer will work directly with FBC members in Kelowna and surrounding areas, providing personalized tax planning and preparation services. This hybrid position combines office work with daily travel to client sites, ensuring hands‑on support for small‑business owners, farmers, and self‑employed professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file T1 personal and T2 corporate tax returns for individuals, farms and small businesses.
• Deliver accurate tax and accounting advice that minimizes short‑ and long‑term tax liabilities.
• Gather client information, maintain detailed records of all interactions, and ensure compliance with CRA regulations.
• Build and nurture strong relationships with members, encouraging referrals and long‑term engagement.
• Identify client needs and connect them with FBC’s broader services such as bookkeeping, payroll, legal assistance, and financial planning.
• Collaborate with internal specialists to provide comprehensive estate, retirement and cash‑flow planning support.
• Perform additional duties as required to support member success.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in a tax preparation or accounting firm.
• Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software; Taxprep and Xero preferred, iFirm knowledge an asset.
• Experience preparing both individual (T1) and corporate (T2) returns, including for farms and small businesses.
• Strong client‑service orientation with proven relationship‑building abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence, vehicle registration and reliable vehicle for daily travel.
