Tax Advisor & Preparer – Hybrid (Brandon, MB)

About the role

The Tax Advisor & Preparer works directly with FBC members to understand their financial situation and deliver tailored tax strategies that minimise short‑ and long‑term tax liabilities. This hybrid position combines office work with frequent travel to urban, rural and remote member locations across Manitoba.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate tax and accounting advice to members.
• Collect member information and prepare T1 and T2 tax returns.
• Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships, encouraging referrals.
• Identify member needs and connect them with other specialists within FBC.
• Maintain precise records of all member interactions and services.
• Perform other duties as required, including occasional estate, retirement and cash‑flow planning support.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in a tax preparation or accounting firm.
• Client‑focused with solid knowledge of tax and accounting practices.
• Willingness to travel daily, including up to two weeks per month in remote locations.
• Valid driver’s licence, vehicle registration and a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to work onsite at the Winnipeg location when required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Taxprep software.
• Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
