Systems Administrator – Windows & Azure (Mid-Level)

About the role

We are looking for a mid‑level Systems Administrator to join the IT department of JAM Industries in Montréal. The role focuses on the administration, maintenance and operational support of Windows, Active Directory and Azure environments across North America, ensuring stable and secure infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.
• Perform daily operational tasks in Azure/Entra, including VM management, VNet/NSG configuration, storage, monitoring and backups.
• Support and troubleshoot Azure hybrid identity (Entra Connect) and Microsoft 365 services.
• Provide L2/L3 escalation for systems‑related incidents and service requests.
• Monitor system health, apply patches, perform backup/restore operations and ensure recovery readiness.
• Conduct log analysis and root‑cause troubleshooting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and OS logs.
• Collaborate with network, security, application and SQL teams to support infrastructure components of business applications and peripheral devices.
• Document configurations, procedures and troubleshooting steps following the Lead SysAdmin/Architect’s standards.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of hands‑on Systems Administrator experience, including at least 3 years with Microsoft Azure.
• Strong experience with Windows Server and Active Directory administration.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, subnets, routing, firewalls, DNS).
• Experience supporting enterprise environments of 1,000–5,000 users.
