Systems Administrator

About the role

MDA Space is expanding its IT team to support the RADARSAT-2, RADARSAT Constellation Mission and the upcoming CHORUS mission. The Systems Administrator will join the Information Technology group at the MDA Control Centre in St. Hubert, QC, ensuring the reliability and security of critical satellite ground systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform security triage to identify and analyse IT incidents and threats.
• Develop and implement strategies for integrating on‑premise and cloud‑deployed systems, including upgrades, networking, and security enhancements.
• Maintain operational workflows and document system configurations.
• Provide network and hardware maintenance, troubleshooting, and ongoing documentation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design solutions that meet customer, security, and corporate IT policy requirements.
• Update tools, processes, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Several years of hands‑on experience in system administration and IT operations.
• Strong self‑management skills and ability to work effectively in large, multi‑site teams.
• Experience with cyber‑security practices and protecting mission‑critical infrastructure.
• Professional attitude with a focus on documentation and process improvement.
