Support Services Attendant – Part‑Time

About the role

The Support Services Attendant provides a clean and safe environment for patients and staff at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. This regular part‑time position involves housekeeping, food service, patient transfers, and supply chain support within a unionized setting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, disinfection, waste collection, linen handling, and food preparation/delivery.
• Assist with patient transfers and operate hydraulic lift or scissor dock equipment.
• Receive, validate, and distribute hospital deliveries, entering data into the electronic supply chain system.
• Maintain inventory levels, rotate stock, and ensure compliance with BPS supply chain regulations.
• Operate floor machines and other equipment while adhering to Ministry of Environment and Public Health standards.

Required profile

• Secondary school diploma.
• Experience in healthcare environmental cleaning or food services.
• Certificates preferred: Cleaning in a Healthcare Environment, Safe Food Handling, Food Service Worker, CPR.
• Current WHMIS training and annual MSD prevention training.
• Dependable attendance, strong communication, and ability to work independently or in a team.

Required skills

• WHMIS knowledge.
• Hydraulic lift/scissor dock operation.
• Computer proficiency for inventory and supply chain systems.
