Supply Food Services Technician – On‑call

About the role

The District School Board of Niagara is seeking a Supply Food Services Technician to work on‑call across secondary schools in the Niagara region. This flexible position allows you to choose your work days and locations while supporting students with meal preparation and service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist students in preparing, cooking, and serving meals in a safe and sanitary environment.
• Maintain cleanliness of food preparation areas and equipment.
• Handle cash receipts from meal sales, balance accounts, and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
• Travel between schools using a personal vehicle as needed.

Required profile

• Grade 12 education or equivalent, with coursework in quantity cooking.
• 1–2 years experience in commercial or institutional food preparation and service.
• Ability to work well with students and school staff.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for travel within the district.

Required skills

• Food safety and sanitation practices.
• Cash handling and account balancing.
• Quantity cooking techniques.
