Subcontracts Administrator – Rail Infrastructure

About the role

The Subcontracts Administrator will oversee the full lifecycle of subcontracts on a major rail infrastructure project, ensuring compliance with project budgets, schedules, and safety standards. This position works closely with internal commercial, construction, and technical teams as well as external subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, review invoices, and close‑out subcontract agreements in line with project requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors to enforce contractual obligations, including safety, quality, and as‑built documentation.
• Draft, issue, and manage contractual correspondence such as notices, change directives, and change orders.
• Lead and administer small to medium‑value subcontracts, cost‑plus contracts, and service agreements.
• Review, analyze, and negotiate subcontract terms to align with the prime contract.
• Facilitate stakeholder and client/subcontractor meetings for progress updates and commercial matters.
• Maintain subcontract logs and registers, tracking changes, extensions, and payments.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and joint‑venture policies.
• Assess subcontractor progress claims and invoices for internal approval.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing subcontractor agreements and commercial matters.
• Background in complex civil or rail construction projects.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of construction law.
• Familiarity with progressive design/build contract models is preferred.
