Student Casual General Helper – Kitchen Support

About the role

Join the Student Housing & Hospitality Services team at McGill University as a General Helper A. This student‑casual, part‑time role supports the dining hall kitchen by keeping cooking utensils, equipment, and work areas clean and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize cooking utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas.
• Assist the Dining Hall Supervisor or Chef with basic kitchen tasks as needed.
• Follow health and safety standards to ensure a hygienic environment.

Required profile

• High School Leaving Diploma.
• At least three months of related experience in a kitchen or food‑service setting.
• Good communication skills in both English and French.
• Ability to read and write in English and French.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $24.40 (CAD) with up to 38.75 hours per week.
• Temporary fixed‑term contract from 22 August 2026 to 30 April 2027.
