Structural Bridge Drafting Technologist

About the role

We are seeking a Structural Bridge Drafting Technologist to join our Bridge design team in St. John’s, NL (or Halifax, NS, or Fredericton, NB). The role focuses on producing high‑quality construction drawings for new and rehabilitated bridge projects that have a significant impact on communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural engineering documents for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber bridges using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to refine design concepts, perform structural calculations, and ensure accurate tender documents.
• Assist structural engineers in field investigations, bridge condition assessments, and construction inspections.
• Contribute to bridge inspection reports, project specifications, proposals, and the creation of spreadsheets or workflow tools.
• Maintain and enhance proficiency in bridge drafting software, including Autodesk Civil 3D and Infraworks.

Required profile

• A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related field (or equivalent education and experience).
• Minimum three years of experience in structural drafting with strong understanding of engineering drawings.
• Proactive learner who stays updated on industry standards and new software tools.
• Effective written and verbal communicator able to work within teams and with external stakeholders.
• Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
