Strategic Projects Specialist

About the role

The Strategic Projects Specialist supports planning, coordination and delivery of priority projects and special initiatives within the Department of Intergovernmental Affairs. Reporting to the Manager, the role acts as the central point of coordination throughout each project's lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Take day‑to‑day carriage of assigned strategic projects, develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones and deliverables.
• Coordinate contributions from internal and external partners, organize meetings, track commitments and ensure follow‑up.
• Conduct research and analysis, prepare briefing materials and support the development of options and recommendations.
• Monitor implementation of decisions, provide regular status updates and support project evaluation and close‑out.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in public administration, Indigenous governance, political science, project management, business administration, law, policy or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience coordinating or delivering multi‑stakeholder projects and managing multiple files, priorities and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication, research, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Valid BC driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required.
