Staff Software Engineer – Lending Foundations

About the role

Nu’s Global Lending Foundations team is building a platform that will reshape how lending decisions are designed, built, and launched across new geographies. As a Staff Software Engineer you will define the long‑term technical direction of this platform, ensuring it scales across countries, products, and partners while supporting Nu’s rapid global expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architectural vision for the Lending Foundations platform, making decisions that outlast individual product cycles.
• Design and scale shared platform capabilities, including core services, decisioning primitives, and integration patterns.
• Lead cross‑team architectural initiatives, aligning engineering squads on hard technical choices.
• Advance event‑oriented architectures by applying and refining CQRS and event‑driven patterns.
• Partner with product and business leaders to translate expansion goals into platform roadmaps.

Required profile

• Proven senior technical leadership experience building platform‑scale infrastructure.
• Strong ability to drive alignment across multiple engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills to work closely with product and business leadership.
