Sous‑chef – cuisine vietnamienne

About the role

We are seeking a motivated sous‑chef to join our Vietnamese restaurant in Prince George. The successful candidate will prepare high‑quality dishes, develop new recipes, and support the kitchen team in a fast‑paced, hot environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory.
• Create and test new Vietnamese recipes and menu items.
• Instruct cooks on preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation.
• Prepare and cook meals for regular service and special functions, including guests with dietary restrictions.
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies and ensure sanitation and hygiene standards.
• Prepare dishes for customers with allergies or intolerances.
• Clean work area and maintain kitchen equipment.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience as a sous‑chef or similar role.
• Organized and able to work well in a team.
• Safe Food Handling certification.
• Ability to work under pressure in a hot, fast‑paced kitchen.
• Experience working with hot and refrigerated environments.
• Capability to stand for extended periods.
