Sourcing Specialist – 5‑month contract

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Sourcing Specialist to join a well‑known Canadian business for a 5‑month contract. The role will support the transformation of the procurement function, driving strategic sourcing initiatives and modernising processes.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with internal teams to align sourcing strategies with business priorities and the new agile procurement vision.
• Develop and implement sourcing plans that optimise cost, supplier performance and operational excellence.
• Manage end‑to‑end competitive sourcing activities, including RFP/RFQ preparation, proposal evaluation and contract negotiation.
• Investigate and resolve supplier or contract issues, providing market‑based recommendations.
• Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities and contracts, ensuring compliance with policies and best practices.
• Draft contracts and specialised clauses in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Participate in process‑improvement projects and digitisation initiatives for procurement workflows.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in procurement, sourcing or supply‑chain roles within a corporate environment.
• Proven track record managing full‑cycle competitive sourcing processes (RFPs, RFQs, tenders).
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities under tight timelines while ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
