Software Engineer – User Profile (Remote, Canada)

About the role

StackAdapt is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join the User Profile team. You will help build and scale the systems that power user identity, audience segmentation, and profile data across our advertising platform, working remotely from anywhere in Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, low‑latency microservices primarily written in Go.
• Build event‑driven pipelines using Kafka for real‑time data ingestion and processing.
• Work with distributed storage technologies such as ScyllaDB, TiDB, and Redis.
• Write performance‑efficient, memory‑optimized code to ensure reliability and data consistency.
• Collaborate with Product, Machine Learning, Data, and Infrastructure engineers to deliver core platform capabilities.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience as a Backend Software Engineer.
• Strong problem‑solving skills in data structures, algorithms, and optimization.
• Experience with relational databases and/or distributed data stores.
• Proven ability to build scalable microservices and distributed systems.
• Passion for building reliable, high‑performance systems at scale.
