Software Developer – New Graduate Backend Role

About the role

Autodesk is looking for an early‑career backend developer to join the team building our next‑generation Consumption platform. As a Software Developer (New Grad) you will work on real services used globally, gaining hands‑on experience with distributed systems in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement features and bug‑fixes in backend services under mentorship, writing secure, reliable code with unit tests and documentation.
• Learn to design, build, and optimise microservices and event‑driven components that power the Consumption platform.
• Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to team knowledge bases.
• Troubleshoot routine issues, assist with production deployments, basic operational tasks and monitoring.
• Use AI‑assisted programming tools responsibly to improve productivity while following team standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, networking and basic distributed‑systems concepts.
• Clear communication, collaborative mindset and willingness to seek guidance and learn quickly.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one language: Java, Python or Go.
• Familiarity with Git version control and RESTful or event‑driven service patterns.
• Basic knowledge of cloud services (AWS Lambda, Fargate, SQS, DynamoDB, Aurora) is a plus.
• Exposure to microservices, Docker containerisation, CI/CD pipelines, metrics/logging and security best practices.
