SOC Analyst (Level 1) – Toronto

About the role

BrightIT is seeking a Level 1 SOC Analyst to join its Toronto office. You will monitor security alerts, investigate incidents, and help improve the security operations centre for its iGaming platform.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls and other security tools.
• Perform initial triage and analysis of events to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Analyze network traffic, system logs and telemetry to detect malicious activity.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, escalating to SOC L2 when needed.
• Document incidents, prepare reports for management and contribute to post‑incident reviews.
• Maintain and improve SOC processes and procedures.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in a security operations or IT security role.
• Strong understanding of information security principles and best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related field (preferred).
• Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ISO 27001, PCI DSS, GDPR (nice‑to‑have).
• Experience in iGaming or other highly regulated environments (nice‑to‑have).

What we offer

• Competitive salary range of $65,000–$85,000 CAD per year.
• On‑site work at the King & Spadina office in Toronto.
• Shift schedule: 10 am – 7 pm ET, rotating 5‑day/2‑day and 4‑day/2‑day pattern.
