About the role

The Manitoba Justice Sheriff Services is seeking a part‑time SO2 Sheriff’s Officer to provide courtroom security and enforce court orders across the province. You will act as a uniformed representative, ensuring safety and order in court facilities and during transport of persons in custody.

Key responsibilities

• Escort, guard, and transport individuals in custody.
• Maintain order, security, and decorum in all courtrooms.
• Assist in the enforcement of writs, seizures, evictions, and delivery of court documents.
• Apprehend persons subject to bench warrants.
• Operate in various environments including courtrooms, vehicles, and aircraft.

Required profile

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work in a uniformed, public‑facing role.
• Valid driver’s licence with a satisfactory abstract.
• Clear criminal record and successful adult/child abuse registry checks.
• Willingness to undergo background screening prior to interview.
